Why mindset matters
What is a Mindset?
"Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right"
Why does it matter?
While mindsets can be helpful for distilling information and managing expectations, they can also be maladaptive, lead to interpersonal problems and feelings of guilt, inadequacy, demotivation, sadness and anxiety.
Without acknowledging your mindset, and growing skills to manage it, attempts at change can remain ineffective or misguided. This is as true for individuals as for organisations. By understanding, adapting and shifting your mindset, you can improve your health, decrease your stress and become more resilient to any of work and life’s challenges.
What types of mindsets are there?
There are numerous different mindsets and no single person goes through life with one mindsets. In truth we are all a mixture of mindsets all the time; recognising this is also the key to choosing the most effective way forward.
